Marty,About the coffee cake...

Sometimes it takes longer than the 30 minutes to bake it.I dont know why,could be a number of reasons.If I were you Marty I would try the toothpick method to check for doneness after 35 minutes.This is not a temperamental cake there are just little things we know about our own recipes(& ovens) to make them easier you know?Like when I spread the bottom half of the batter down, I dont really use 1/2 the batter like the recipe says,I put a little less so its easier to spread the "thick" batter on top over the topping.You will see what I mean when your spreading this.(Its best to have more to spread on top.)Sorry, I hope I havent confused you or made this more complicated than it is because its not,its really simple & so...delicious!
