Re: Looking for Tuna Noodle Cassarole

The following was my mother's recipe. I amended it as noted
below the original.

Tuna Noodle Casserole

1-7/8 cup dry noodles (7 oz. pkg)
1 small can tuna (6 oz.)
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can milk
grated cheese, salt

Boil noodles in salt water til tender then drain. Mix other
ingredients in baking dish with noodles. Bake 1/2 hour at
400 - 450 degrees F.

As amended:

When I do this, sometimes I don't cook the noodles first.
In that case, add an additional 1/2 can of water when you
mix all the ingredients together with the raw noodles. Then
increase the baking time to 1 hour, and lower the temperature
to 350 degrees F.

Another amendment:

My mom always used colby or American cheese with this. I
usually use Swiss, and I only put it on top (rather than mixed
in) for the last ten minutes of the baking time. When I use
Swiss, I usually mix in a couple of tablespoons of cooking
sherry when mixing the other ingredients together.
