Recipe: Joan Mondale's Burnt Cream or Easy Creme Brulee (using instant pudding mix)

Desserts - Puddings, Gelatin
JOAN MONDALE'S BURNT CREAM OR EASY CREME BRULEE

1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1 1/4 cups milk
1 (3 3/4 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding and pie filling mix
1/2 cup brown sugar, not packed
Fresh fruit, for serving (optional)

Place cream and milk in bowl. Pour in dry pudding mix and beat with rotary beater or electric mixer at low speed for 2 minutes. Pour into ovenproof dish and refrigerate for 30 minutes (until mixture has jelled).

Sprinkle with brown sugar and place 3 or 4 inches below hot broiler until sugar melts, about 6-8 minutes. Watch carefully so sugar does not burn.

Refrigerate and serve cold, with fruit, if desired.

Makes 6 servings.
