re: natural wheat bread - Catherine Clark/Brownberry

Misc.
Dear Heather - Google "Catherine Clark Natural Wheat Bread Recipe" to find a blog that addresses the fact about Arnold Bread changing the original recipe. (I, too, said I'm looking for the original one.) Note:e-mail feedback to Arnold has resulted in them deciding to bring BACK the original recipe. (!!!!) They say, by the end of June 2007. In the meantime, Koepplinger makes a decent natural wheat bread. It's not as firm to the "bite", and lacks the sort of naturally-sweet nutty flavour that I find in "Catherine", but it'll get me through until I see whether or not the "return" bread is actually the "real thing". Note also that Arnold reduced the weight when they changed the original recipe (from 1 lb, 8 oz to 1 lb, 4 oz) AND raised the price. The return recipe ought to be the larger weight, or a smaller loaf, otherwise, something will be amiss. Finally, "Catherine" WAS $3.29; the new Arnold was $3.49. And Koepplinger's IS $1.89 for the heavy loaf - 1 lb, 8 oz!!!!!! (I am astonished at the price discrepency.) Hope this helps. I'm going to still try to get a good recipe for my own use. Will share if I succeed.
