Re: Opening Vlasic bottle

Misc.
Hi Shayona:-) Of course this isn't really a recipe but when I have difficulty opening a jar lid, the first thing I do is to bang it upside down on my kitchen counter (bang it pretty hard). If this doesn't work, try running it under hot tap water. This should help the lid expand enough that you may be able to loosen it. If these two methods fail, may I suggest that you invest in a Gilhoolie jar opener. These are available at The Vermont Country Store for $14.95. (thevermontcountrystore.com). Just type "gilhoolie" in their sites search box. My mother had one of these years and years ago, and on a trip up to Vermont, I bought two, one of which I gave to my SIL. She loves the darn thing/contraption. I must say it was a great invention by MR. Gilhoolie or whoever came up with the idea. It gives you loads of leverage to get a stubborn lid off a bottle or jar.

"Gilhoolie Opens the Tightest Lids and Caps with Ease
When it comes to opening stubborn jars and bottles, the Gilhoolie flexes its muscles so you don't have to. It's made of sturdy stainless steel and packs plenty of power to easily open all kinds of caps and lids, everything from screw-ons to pry-offs. And unlike other openers, it lets you reseal beverage crowns by simply crimping the caps with the adjustable jaws. 9" long." $14.95

Features:

* Easily removes caps, lids, and even reseals
* A handy device for the kitchen, garage, or workshop
* Dishwasher safe

Gilhoolie jar and bottle opener, the quintessential helping hand.
