RE: I can't open Vlasic bottle

I find the easiest way to open a stubborn jar is to take a knife from your flatware (do NOT use a sharp knife for obvious reasons) & rap around the lid in atleast 3-4 places. This will dent the lid just a little (letting a little air to break the seal). Then open as normal. I tried smacking upside down on the counter & the jar exploded. what a mess (and the stitches were no fun)!!!
