How Vlasic opens them!

I was a Quality Assurance Manager at Vlasic....when running tests on the many jars of various pickles, etc. we used an ice pick! The "capper" machine sometimes gets out of adjustment and puts these caps on too tightly. That is why you can't always open them. Use an ice pick or the old-style can opener that will poke a hole in the lid releasing the pressure.
