Hi Sarah. I'm sure every state has it's price-changing practices. Part of the reason may have to do with how far food has to be hauled. We're in a slightly out-of-the-way area in AZ, so I'm sure if we shopped in Tucson rather than here I'd find better prices on a number of things. And Sedona, a popular tourist attraction, is not only a long-haul for food/supplies trucks, but they jack their prices up even more (I'm almost positive) because "tourists will pay just about anything". Prices for tourist trade will be along their beaten paths; a quieter area off-the-beaten-path may well have lower prices. As for stuff like spaghetti sauce - those jars are very attractive, but spaghetti sauce in a can tastes just as good and you save $ that way. (I paid 99 /can, whereas the jars were $1.39 to around $2!)
