when you take your one cup out to use .you then feed it with one cup flour ande water and maybe a bit of sugar .youm let it sit out until all bubbly again then put it back .if you donot feed it it will get use up and you have to make new everytime you made bread .every time you use some you replace what you use to keep a constant supply on hand if you donot use it just feed it every ten days but at every fifth feeding take out half and do something else like give that part to a freind.if you donot take out some at that point you have to much and it would come out of your container you need to control it so it doesnot overflow the container you using
