Zero degrees! Wow. I remember those temps in Michigan. Ah, yes, that one memorable day when I was 10 years old and fell through the ice while skating on a frozen pond. Thank goodness it was only waist-deep. My brother and his friend pulled me out. I was so cold that I walked home 3 blocks wearing my ice skates!

Your trees sound beautiful. We have a few deciduous trees here in my town. Some of them turn red, but we also have a lot of evergreen trees and palms, which of course don't change. I'm sitting here in my home office looking out the window at my ferns and camellias, which are just starting to bloom. It's rainy today but warm. Probably about 68 degrees.
