Spanish Rice

I never did get the recipe for spanish rice from my friend before she moved. She made REAL spanish rice. I do know she used long grain rice, and canned tomatoes, and a blend of spices (I think onion, too). I remember it cooked for about 30 minutes. Can anyone give me the recipes? Thanks!
