Hi Nancy, Thank you for taking the time to let us know how the recipe turned out, I'm sorry if it wasn't as expected. I think the base in that recipe is supposed to be like a cookie crust but it sounds like it turned out more like a shortbread crust. I haven't tried that recipe, but I've made the Easy Chocolate Cherry Bars and Frosting recipe and that is a cake-like bar (and very sweet, but good). - Betsy
