Hi Tracy,

Just read your post...sometimes I miss questions, so the best thing to do is to do a search for a 1 week posting and that's how I found your question....

On the Goya brand, I just use that one because Nelson uses that brand. I rally don't have any preference...I looked at all the beans and a black bean is a black bean, if you know what I mean. Go ahead and use any black beans you find. I am sure you will be ok, make sure you cook them on low like I told you and let them simmer for about 2-3 hours. Please let me know how they come out. They are really good.
