water bath canner

Misc.
The best places seem to be stores like Walmart.I have seen some used ones at thrift stores and garage sales, too. If you have a pressure canner, you can use it,too,as a water bath canner.Just don't tighten down the lid. I do know that some of the newer water bath canners are not very deep, and the water boils out all over when canning in quart jars. Perhaps you could measure the height of a quart jar and then be sure you have enough depth to cover over the tops of jars with boiling water by 2 inches and enough so it won't boil out . My friend got one last year and it was really not deep enough. Hope this is helpful.
