Jackie your salad recipe sounds lovely and i know that Simon will also love it (he eats alot of salad at this time of year and we're always looking for new ideas) I don't think that i will add the Fennel as we're not great fans either....... :)
I will make it for lunch tomorrow as it's been so horrid and humid here lately and the salad sounds really fresh and cooling!

That Basil oil sounds great.........i'm so close to Borough market that i really don't know why i don't remember to go there and have a look - Emily has found some lovely things for you there hasn't she? At Marylebone station today there was a lovely little cheese shop which we popped into, they also has lots of wonderful jams, chutney's, pickles, relishes, olives etc. I could have bought the lot! I love places like that.
