Zipper cream peas are large, white peas. They remind me of a white crowder pea,
and they are raised in my area. My daddy started planting these peas about 5
years before he died and we have just grown to love them. Now my dear friend's
husband plants these peas and I "put up" 11 1/2 bushels this past summer. My
family says that these peas remind them of boiled peanuts! I think that they
are named "zipper" cream peas because they are so easily shelled.
