Recipe(tried): For Michelle Polk & Daughter

Misc.

Welcome Michelle. I have very fond memories of learning to cook with my Mom, and we started with Betty Crocker's Cook Book for Boy's and Girls. (I won't tell you how long ago!) One favorite was Eggs in a Frame which follows:

Eggs in a Frame

Pull center from a slice of bread, or cut it out with a biscuit cutter

Butter bread generously on both sides

Brown bread "frames" on one side in moderately hot buttered frying pan. Turn over.

Drop cracked egg into center

Cook slowly until egg white is set (Cover pan until white starts to set)

Sprinkle lightly with salt

Lift out with a pancake turner

This next one is from Strawberry Shortcake's Cooking Fun: I use to make these with my daughter.

Roll Up Sandwiches:
Why not roll up a sandwich for a change? Roll-up sandwiches make a simple lunch special. First cut off the bread crusts and flatten the bread with a rolling pin. Now you're ready to spread on your own favorite filling and roll up the bread.

1. Cream cheese and chopped parsley or bacon bits are good together. Roll up and fasten with an olive on a toothpick.
2. Another yummy combination is peanut butter and sliced bananas. Roll up, put in the refrigerator for an hour, and slice into little pinwheels.
