Recipe: Lemon Drop Cookies with Lemon Icing (using sour cream, RealLemon, 1980's)

LEMON DROP COOKIES
"Lemon Icing adds a special finishing touch to Lemon Drop Cookies."


1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 1/3 cups sugar
1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
1/3 cup ReaLemon Lemon Juice from Concentrate
2 1/4 cups unsifted flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Lemon Icing (recipe follows)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In large mixer bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Blend in sour cream and ReaLemon.

Combine dry ingredients; add to butter mixture. Mix well. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls, 2-inches apart, onto greased baking sheets.

Bake 13 to 15 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool.

Frost with Lemon Icing.

LEMON ICING
Makes about 1/2 cup

1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
2 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon ReaLemon Lemon Juice from Concentrate
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Combine all ingredients; mix well. Spread on cooled cookies.

Makes about 4 dozen
