Recipe(tried): How to open a coconut : )

Tips and Tricks - Cooking
Clea,

How to open a coconut:

Use an ice pick (or anything close to that) to puncture a hole in the coconut eye. Hold the coconut over a bowl and let the juice drain. After that, put the rest of the coconut in a shallow pan and put it in the oven at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to an hour, or whenever the outside begins to crack. Let cool. Then tap it with a hammer and the husk should fall right off!

Sincerly,
Jerin
