Hi Laura!I'm sorry you're having problems with your donuts.What kind are you baking,a yeast or a cake-like donut?

I'm not exactly a pro when it comes to making donuts,yet I do make them quite a bit.Are you coating them in the sugar before or after you bake them?If before,you might try spinkling the sugar over the donut half way thru the baking time & then using a spatula,carefully flip them over & sprinkle more sugar on the plain side.

If your waiting til after the donuts are done baking,you could "Paint" on a liquid glaze of powdered sugar,vanilla & a little bit of water.Or after they are done baking you could dip them in butter & then roll them in cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar.These are what I do.I hope this works for you.Possibly someone here with more knowledge on this could help you.Happy Holidays!
