Recipe: House Keepers Applesauce Cake (9x9-inch)

HOUSE KEEPERS APPLESAUCE CAKE

2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground mace or nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1 1/2 cups applesauce (one 1-pound can)
1 cup raisins (optional)
1 cup pecans
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter or margarine

Combine all of the ingredients except the butter in a bowl.

Melt the butter in a 9x9 inch baking pan and pour over the ingredients in the bowl. Mix well. Pour the mixture in to the buttered pan.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 to 50 minutes.
