ISO: Baker's Bakery Date Nut Cake

Can anyone share dugjohnson s original recipe? Cookloose.com is no longer a working domain. I DID bake his recipe once and made a bunch of notes to try for alterations - can t find the fackin thing now. I have a folder somewhere, making it my mission to try to sort this out! I live in Canada and we used to get the Date Nut cake in Parma. I ve been gathering little snippets of clues here and there to develop a recipe. The best next step is to get to the US and buy another cake for comparison, alas the last remaining bakery - Dick s Bakery is being sold and new owners are being trained to run it. I m not sure when the new reopening will be. The icing is going to be the hardest to sort out. I m guessing an Italian meringue buttercream, but what flavouring are they using ? It s not just basic vanilla.
Anyhow - someone please post the recipe again, not a link to cookloose.com
