SMOTHERED POTATOES
(the quantities are aproximate)
5-6 large potatoes peeled and cubed
1 large onion diced
1/2 bell pepper diced
some mince garlic
some parsley
1 lb. smoked sausage cut or some ham diced
a little oil
salt and pepper to taste
a little water
First you saute the onios peppers and garlic till tender then add your
potatoes and saute for a while until they start to get tender and your
sausage or ham too and parsley.
add a little about 1/4 cup water and let cook and stir frequently untill
potatoes become smashed like and turn sort of a golden yellow in color great
as a side dish.(add salt and pepper when you add in the potatoes)

CHERRY FLUFF
1 can condensed milk
1/2 cup lemon juice
1 can cherry pie filling
1 can crushed pineapple, drained
1 cup chopped, pecans
12 oz. carton Cool Whip
Mix sweetened condensed milk with the lemon juice. Add the cherry
pie filling, drained pineapple and pecans. Fold in the Cool Whip.
Refrigerate for 2 hours before serving.

Strawberry Cheese Pie
One 12" graham cracker crust bake 10 minutes. (Use recipe on gragam cracker
crumb box)
2 eggs
1 lb cream cheese
dash of salt
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Beat eggs in mixer and add the previous ingredients.
Place mixture into pie shell and bake at 375 for 20 minutes. Remove from
oven and pour over it, 1 cup sour cream which has been mixed with 2
tablespoons sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla plus a sprinkle of lemon juice.
Bake at 425 for 5 minutes. Cool. Refridgerate overnight.
Bring to a boil 1 package of frozen strawberries in 1/4 cup water that has
been thickened 1/2 - 1 tablespoon cornstarch. Cool. Save some of the mixture
for galzing strawberries. Pour mixture over pie. Place stemmed whole
strawberrie tip side up into the strawberry mixture and pour on remaining
glaze.

Servings: 6
2 eggs
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons vinegar
2 tablespoons orange juice
1 16 oz.carton sour cream
1 can mandarin oranges
1 can pineapple chunks
1 can sweet anne cherries
1 can pears
2 bananas
2 cups miniature marshmallows
Mix eggs, sugar,vinegar and orange juice in a pan. Cook until thick. Cool.
Add the sour cream. Drain fruits very well. Cut fruit into bite size pieces.
Mix all and chill 24 hours.
OH! I wanted to say that that is my sister's recipe!

Peanut Butter Popcorn Balls
1/2 cup Unpopped Popcorn
2 T Butter
1/3 cup white corn syrup
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter
Pop popcorn. Season with butter and salt. Combine syrup and sugar in a small
sauce pan. Stir over medium heat until hot and bubbly. Add peanut butter and
cook over low heat u ntil well blended. Put popcorn in a large buttered bowl
and pour syrup evenly over popcorn. Mix well. Put baggies on hands and
squeeze popcorn quickly into balls.

Aunt Betty's Pickles
1 large jar dill (not Kosher) pickles
Cook until dissolved:
2 cups sugar
2/3 cup water
Add:
1 teaspoon celery seed
Pour over the pickles while hot and put all back in jar. Refrigerate at least 24 hours before serving.

Moon Cakes
1 lb butter, softened
1 1/3 cup sugar
1/2 lb almonds, ground
3 1/2 cups flour
confectioners sugar
Cream butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Add almonds and flour; mix
well. Chill until firm. Shape into half moons. Place on a ungreased baking
sheet. Bake at 375 degrees until golden brown. About 13-15 minutes. Cool.
Dip in confectioners sugar. Yield 10 dozen
Moon Cakes are also called Almond Cookies.

Chocolate Mint Brownies
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 (1ounce) squares of unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled.
1/2 cup flour
2 eggs
8x8 greeased pan.
Cream the butter and sugar well. Add rest of the ingredients and pour in
pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes.
Mint Frosting
1 cup 10x sugar
2 tbsp milk
1/4 to 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
Combine and spread over cooled brownies and chill.
Glaze
1 ounce melted chocolate
1 tbsp melted butter
pour over mint frosting and tilt pan to coat.
Chill and serve.

Cloverleaf Rolls
Recipe By : A.Q. Chicken House, Springdale Arkansas
Servings: 12
2 cups hot milk
2 teaspoons salt 1/2 cup sugar
2 packages dry yeast
2 eggs
1/2 cup butter -- melted
7 1/2 cups flour
melted butter -- for brushing at end
Mix all in food processor. Let rise twice. Form dough into small balls.
Place 3 in each section of greased muffin tin. Let rise again. Bake at 425*
for 15-20 minutes. Brush with melted butter at end of baking.

Aunt Bert's Lemon Fluff
(which I lovingly renamed Lime Slime)
Make 2 (3 ounce) packages of lime jello using 3 1/2 cups of water.
Refrigerate until set to egg white consistency. With electric mixer on
medium speed, beat in 1 can lemon pie filling until fluffy. Chill.

1 can eagle brand milk(condensed)
9 oz. Cool Whip
1 T. lemon Juice
2 graham cracker crust
1 can 20 oz . crushed pineapple
Mix altogeather and put on graham cracker crust.
Makes 2 pies.

1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup pecans
Mix all ingrediants togeather. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes.

Biscuits
Recipe from Maggie Duhon
4 cups Bisquik Biscuit Mix
1 8oz. sour cream
3/4 cup club soda
1 stick margarine
Mix together just until blended. Do not over mix.
Place on floured surface and knead 10 times. Cut into 16
large biscuits. Oil pan with margarine. Spread melted
margarine over biscuits before and after biscuits. Bake
at 400 degrees for 20-22 minutes.

Sausage Bread
Recipe by Maggie Duhon
3 loaves frozen bread
Owens or Jimmy Dean Sausage Mix
1 onion chopped
1 bellpepper, chopped
1 lb. Mozzarella Cheese
Black olives
Green olives
Mushrooms
Whatever else you like on your sausage bread.
Cut loaves in half and let rise according to package.
Brown sausage mix, onion, bellpepper, and meat till
almost done. Drain and set aside. Add to this 1 lb.
Mozzarella Cheese, black olives, green olives, mushrooms, and whatever else
you like.
Roll bread in oblong shape , one at a time. Place mixture in center. Lap one
side
over another and seal ends. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown.

Chocolate Muffins or Cake
1/2 cup carnation milk
2 eggs
1 block butter
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup coco (chocolate)
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
Mix all ingrediants and bake at 350 degrees. Their is no time on this recipe
but just check with a toothpick when it is done.

Grandma's Fruit Cocktail Cake
2 cups plain flour
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1 can fruit cocktail No. 303 size can
Beat eggs, add sugar and blend with electric mixer. Add the dry ingrediants
alternating with the fruit cocktail until all has been mixed. Use juice from
cocktail also. Beat 3 minutes. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

SUMMERTIME POTATO SALAD
MIX TOGETHER:
1 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons vinegar
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 to 2 teaspoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
TOSS WITH:
4 cups cooked potatoes, peeled and diced
1 cup celery, diced
1/2 cup onion, diced
3 hard cooked eggs, chopped.
Chill.

celery, diced
green onion, thinly sliced
hard-boiled eggs, chopped (my addition)

Hellman's mayonnaise
Mix and chill well before serving.

potatoes boiled, skinned and diced
hard boiled eggs
large mild onion, diced
Vlassic sweet pickles, chunked
cheddar cheese, diced
can of black olives
salt and pepper
Make a dressing of the Vlassic sweet
pickle juice and Best Foods Mayonnaise.
Only Vlassic juice can make the right
taste. This is a favorite with my family.

Sour Cream Lemon Pie
From: Cookbook USA CD
1 c. sugar
3 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tbsp. lemon rind, grated
1/2 c. fresh lemon juice
3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
1 c. milk
1/4 c. butter
1 c. cultured sour cream
1 baked 9" pie shell
1 c. heavy cream, whipped for topping
You can use a carton of Cool Whip instead. Lemon twists for garnish if
desired. Combine sugar, cornstarch, lemon rind, juice, egg yolks and milk in
2 quart glass bowl. Cook in microwave, stirring often until mixture
thickens. Stir in sour cream and pour filling into pie shell. Cover with
whipped cream or Cool Whip. Garnish with lemons if desired. Store in
refrigerator. Serve chilled.
