Recipe: A Twist on Spaghetti and Meatballs (using ground turkey)

Main Dishes - Pasta, Sauces
A TWIST ON SPAGHETTI AND MEATBALLS

2 pounds fresh ground turkey
2 eggs
3/4 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 jars (about 26 ounces each) your favorite red pasta sauce (6 cups)
1 pound spaghetti, uncooked

In a large bowl, combine turkey, eggs, bread crumbs, cheese and garlic powder until well blended. Shape into 24 meatballs.

In 6-quart saucepot, bring pasta sauce to a boil. Gently stir in meatballs and spoon sauce over each meatball. Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, 30 minutes or until meat thermometer inserted in center of meatballs registers 165 degrees F.

Meanwhile, cook spaghetti according to package directions.

To serve, spoon meatballs and sauce over spaghetti.
