Alabama State Fair Biscuits

These biscuits have won 1st place at the Alabama state fair for the past 10 years. They will melt in your mouth.

2 cups self-rising flour
1 cup buttermilk
8 Tbsp lard
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp soda
1 tsp sugar

Mix all ingredients together. Knead on floured surface. Roll out and cut--bake on lightly greased baking sheet in 450 degree oven and bake around 10 minutes or until light brown. When done, drizzle with melted butter. The secret is the pure lard and butter.
