Almond Ice Cream
Newsgroup posting by Scott A. Keen (2000)
My favorite ice cream is the following simple no-cook, no-eggs version.
2 cups whipping cream
1 cup whole milk (maybe use cream/water mixture?)
3/4 sugar
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup toasted almond slices (heat in frying pan, no oil)
One thing I've noticed, add the extract at the end of the ice cream making process. Extract contains alcohol, which may prevent your ice cream from freezing!
