Recipe: Another Cold Lemon Soup

I agree, Med's recipe does sound like what you were describing.

You got my curiousity up, so I went searching and also found
this one. (No chicken base, & appears to be sweeter)

Lemon Soup

2 T. margarine
2 T. flour
4 C. water
2 lemons, grate rind & strain juice
3 egg yolks
3 T. sugar
3 egg whites
3 T. sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
grated almonds

Heat margarine. Stir in flour & cook 1 minute. Stir in water, & add lemon rind & juice. Cook until slightly thickened. Beat egg yolks with sugar & stir into soup. Cook until slightly thickened. Cool. Beat egg whites, fold in rest of sugar. Pour soup into bowls, spoon egg whites on top. Sprinkle with cinnamon & almonds.
Excellent on a hot day.
