Recipe(tried): Apple Bars

Apple Bars

2 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup butter or margarine
2 egg yolks, beaten
4 med. apples; peeled, cored & sliced
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
1 tsp cinnamon

Combine the first 4 ingredients; cut in the butter until crumbly (size of small peas). Stir in the egg yolks. Divide dough into 3 parts. Press 2 parts in the bottom of a greased 13X9 pan. Combine the apples, remaining sugar, flour & cinnamon. Arrange over the bottom dough. Crumble remaining
dough over apples. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes. Cool slightly and then sprinkle top with powdered sugar. Serve warm or cold.
