APPLESAUCE CRISP
2 cups applesauce
1 to 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup tightly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup raisins
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
FOR THE TOPPING:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup white granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter, chilled
1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Combine the applesauce, lemon juice, brown sugar, raisins and cinnamon. Turn in to an ungreased shallow 1 quart casserole.
Blend the flour, granulated sugar and butter until crumbly. Add the nuts. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the applesauce mixture.
Bakefor 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Makes 4-6 servings
