"Guacamole, meet hummus. Hummus, meet guacamole. Basically it's a match made in heaven. This super and extra-creamy hummus will knock your socks off and make you wish that you had introduced guacamole and hummus much sooner."
1 Hass avocado
1 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1/3 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1 jalapeno chile pepper, seeded
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
4 teaspoons tahini
1 teaspoon Tabasco or Tapatio hot sauce
1 teaspoon coarse salt
Pita chips or assorted crudites, for serving
Cut the avocado in half lengthwise. Remove the pit from the avocado and discard. Remove the avocado from the skin, and place the avocado flesh in a food processor bowl.
Add the garbanzo beans, olive oil, cilantro, jalape o, lemon juice, tahini, hot sauce, and salt to the bowl. Process the ingredients for 20 to 30 seconds, until the mixture is smooth. Taste and adjust the salt if needed.
