Recipe: Party Mix Queso (Chex Mix using American Cheese Food)

PARTY MIX QUESO

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine
1 pkg. dry taco seasoning mix
2 2/3 cups corn chex cereal
2 2/3 cups wheat chex cereal
2 2/3 cups rice chex cereal
2 cups Cheddar cheese crackers
2 cups Nacho cheese tortilla chips
2 tbsp. grated American cheese food (dry powder)

Preheat oven to 250 degrees F.

In open roasting pan melt butter in oven.

Stir in seasoning mix. Gradually add cereals, crackers, and chips stirring until all pieces are evenly coated.

Bake 30 minutes, stirring after 15 minutes.

Add cheese food and stir; bake an additional 15 minutes.

Spread on absorbent paper to cool. Store in airtight container.
