Appetizers and Snacks
BACON WRAPPED WATER CHESTNUTS

1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 Tbsp. ketchup
1 Tbsp. white vinegar
1/4 tsp pepper
1 (8 oz) can whole water chesnuts, drained
8 ounces bacon slices, cut in half

Combine the soy sauce, vegetable oil, garlic, ketchup, vinegar, and pepper in a bowl and mix well. Add the water chestnuts and mix until the water chestnuts are coated with the marinade. Marinate, covered, in the refrigerator for 4 hours or longer.

Preheat broiler.

Remove the water chestnuts from the marinade and drain.

Wrap each of the water chestnuts with a piece of the bacon and secure with a wooden pick. Arrange on the rack in a broiler pan.

Broil for about 10 minutes on each side or until the bacon is crisp. Drain and serve hot.
