BANANA-NUT LOAF
"Makes moist, tasty sandwiches for luncheons and lunch boxes."
Mix thoroughly:
1 cup sugar
2 tbsp. soft shortening
1 egg
Stir in:
3/4 cup milk
1 cup mashed bananas
Sift together and stir in:
3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
3-1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
Stir in:
3/4 cup chopped nuts
Pour into well greased 9x5x3-inch loaf pan. Let stand 20-minutes before baking.
Bake at 350 degrees F (moderate oven) about 70 minutes or until toothpick stuck into center comes out clean. (Crack in top is characteristic).
