Recipe: Bocconcini, caper and basil balls for Donna, TX

Appetizers and Snacks
Donna - if you have a gourmet wine & cheese store, you may want to visit and take advantage of their knowledge. We have several places like that where I live and they really know their stuff!

If you have a source for fresh (un-marinated) bocconcini (which are the very little balls of fresh mozzerella), here is an easy appetizer that is served room temperature that should go with any wine you choose:

Bocconcini, caper and basil balls: using a sharp knife, cut a slit in the centre of 24 (410g) bocconcini balls and push a basil leaf, 1-2 capers and a piece of semi-dried tomato into the centre of each. Serve bocconcini on a plate with a bowl of olive oil for dipping and flaked sea salt for sprinkling.

Enjoy the party and please come back and post to let us know what you ended up doing (and also tell us what other things were served!).
