Recipe: BV/AR re. Party

Misc.

Hi Bv, I moved down to this site and saw your additional posting. If you can see through your lace tablecloth, a nice red liner would be nice for Valentines Day. A suggestion for centerpiece would be red and white carnations or similiar flower, in a nice crystal, lenox or heart shaped vase. You can buy nice heart shaped covered chocolates and have scattered on the table or in a nice Lenox or similiar candy dish, or you can scatter on table Valentine confetti (sold in card stores to put in cards) You can also, if you use Ice Cube trays add a few drops of red food coloring to your water and have pretty red ice cubes. You can have a nice "mood" setting by playing cd/tapes of instrumental love songs. Following is a wonderful "Christmas Scent" I am planning to use all winter. The aroma in your home will be wonderful. You can simmer this on the stove top in a nice teapot or in a steamer on a wood burning stove or in a electic popouri pot. This was posted by Nancy/NJ and I just love it. Also following is a DELICIOUS Cheese Spread that was posted by Cheesehead and loved by my company. Also there are a few really good Party Sandwich Spreads. I like to make the small party sandwiches on the small oval loaves of Rye bread and Pumpernickle bread. The stuffed celery is also a hit at our parties! This is all I can think of right now.

CHRISTMAS SCENT
3 4" stick cinnamon
3 Bay Leaves
1/4 cup whole cloves
1/2 Lemon halved
1/2 orange quartered
1 quart water
Combine all in tea kettle or sauce pan and bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer. After simmering can add to popouri pot. Add more water if needed. Mix may be stored in ref. several days and reused.

CHEESE SPREAD

16 oz. Cream Cheese
1 package dry Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Mix
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 bottle Real Bacon Pieces (found near salad dressing)
Mix together well and use hands to form ball. Roll in bacon pieces. Refrigerate and serve with crackers.

PARTY SANDWICH SPREAD
Olive Egg Spread: Mash 3 hard cooked eggs. Blend in 1/4 cup mayo. 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp. prepared mustard, 1 Tbs. chopped parsley and 1/3 cup chopped ripe black or green olives.

Ripe Olive Spread:Combine 3/4 cup chopped ripe olives with 2 1/2 Tbs. mayo.

STUFFED CELERY
1 8oz. package Cream Cheese softened
3 oz. Blue Cheese room temperature
1 1/2 tsp. mustard
2 Tbs. Milk
Mix all together well. Stuff celery cut into 2 " pieces or larger.
