Misc. Candied Cranberries
This recipe for candied is very old. Before you went to the store to buy candy, people made delicious treats like this at home. Candied cranberries are a perfect topping for the cranberry sherbet, or serve with a dollop of whipped cream.
1 pounds of fresh cranberries
3 cups of sugar
l/4 c orange liqueur or orange juice
Arrange cranberries on an oiled baking pan; add Orange liqueur and pour sugar over them.Let this sit for about 1 hour, then cover with foil and bake in 350 degree oven for 50 minutes, stirring occasionally. Chill to room temperature and serve with whipped cream or spoon over sherbet or vanilla ice cream. You can also serve this warm as a sauce chocolate cake. Use like you would use a raspberry sauce.
Easy Microwave Candied Cranberries
l lb fresh cranberries
1 to l-1/2 cups sugar
1/4 cup water (can use orange or pineapple juice instead)
Combine all ingredients in a 1 quart casserole. Microwave on high 4-5 min until cranberries pop. Cover and let stand 5 min. Can be served hot or cold.
