Recipe(tried): Caramel Toffee Squares

Desserts - Candy, Chocolate
Caramel Toffee Squares

Base
1/2 cup plus 2 tsp soft butter
1/4 cup white sugar
1 1/4 cup flour

Mix well & press in lightly sprayed 9X9 pan. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Cool.

Filling
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 tablespoons corn syrup (Karo)
1/2 cup of sweetened condensed milk

Combine in a double boiler& bring to a boil. Boil & stir 5 minutes. Remove from heat & pour over cooled base. Refrigerate till set.

Topping
6 ounces of chocolate chips
2 teaspoons butter

Melt chocolate chips & butter over very low heat. Pour over the now cooled filling layer Refridgerate till chocolate hardens before cutting.

These are to die for & can be frozen. Very easy.

Make yourself another pan with the other half of tin of milk They dissapear quickly Jo
