Recipe(tried): Cheap produce wash

Tips and Tricks - Cooking
Produce is handled in the store and in processing by people, who may not have good hygeine practices. It could have been sneezed on, etc. I buy cheap white vinegar by the gallon and put it in a spray bottle. All the produce that comes into my house is sprayed with the vinegar and rinsed with water before storing.
This can also be used on meat or chickens. Diluted vinegar is commonly used to disinfect respiratory equipment, so it may be pretty effective as a disinfectant and is safe to use, as far as I know.
