Recipe(tried): Chicken & Dumplings

Main Dishes - Chicken, Poultry
There is a recipe for dumplings on the back of Bisquick (dumplings recipe) and Jiffy baking mix (Jiffy mix is better IMHO) I am not at home or would list it here, but these dumplings sound like what you are describing. I have never just cooked them in boiling water, but in the broth from a stewed chicken. I remove the chicken from the broth and debone it, return the meat to the broth and drop the dumplings in to the boiling broth. You may have to add additional canned broth to the pot to have sufficient liquid for the dumplings. I then follow the recipe on the box. This would certainly work by cooking in salted boiling water with some butter added. The dumplings thicken the liquid and form a gravy. May have to be thickened.
