CHOCOLATE CHIP AND WALNUT MUFFINS
1/2 cup C & H Granulated Sugar
1/3 cup packed C & H Dark Brown Sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup milk
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 (12 oz) package (2 cups) semisweet chocolate chips (OR 6 ounces (1 cup) milk chocolate chips and 6 ounces (1 cup) semisweet chocolate chips)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
In a large bowl stir together sugars, flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.
In another bowl mix together milk, butter, eggs, and vanilla until blended; set aside.
Make a well in center of dry ingredients. Add milk mixture and stir to combine. Stir in chips and nuts. Spoon batter into greased muffin cups, include greasing the edges around cups.
Bake in 400 degree F oven 15 to 20 minutes or until a cake tester inserted into the center of one muffin comes out clean. Remove muffins from oven and cool five minutes. Remove from pans and cool on rack. Serve warm
