Recipe: Chocolate Surprise Cake (using cake mix)

CHOCOLATE SURPRISE CAKE

12 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 (18.25 oz) package chocolate cake mix
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate mini-morsels
TO SERVE:
confectioner's sugar
whipped cream
fresh raspberries

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Butter and flour a 12-cup Bundt pan.

In a small mixing bowl, using an electric mixer, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add egg and vanilla; beat until blended and set aside.

Prepare cake mix as directed on package; fold in chocolate morsels. Pour chocolate batter into prepared pan; evenly cover with cream cheese mixture.

Bake until a wooden pick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean, 45 to 55 minutes. Cool on a wire rack for 25 minutes. Remove from pan; cool completely.

Dust with confectioners sugar. Serve with whipped cream and raspberries, if desired.
