Recipe: Chocolate Swirl Surprise Cake (using cake mix and cream cheese)

CHOCOLATE SWIRL SURPRISE CAKE

1 package Betty Crocker SuperMoist devil's food cake mix
1 1/3 cups water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
3 eggs
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1 (6 ounces) package semisweet chocolate chips (1 cup)

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour rectangular pan, 13x9x2 inches.

Mix cake mix, water, oil and 3 eggs in large bowl on low speed. Beat on medium speed 2 minutes. Pour into pan.

Mix cream cheese, sugar, salt and 1 egg in small bowl until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto batter; cut through batter for marbled effect.

Bake about 40 minutes or until top springs back when touched lightly. Cool completely before serving.

Makes 16 servings
