Recipe: Cranberry Apple Casserole with Oatmeal Topping (1980's)

CRANBERRY APPLE CASSEROLE

3 cups chopped Granny Smith or tart apples
2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries (or 1 can whole cranberry sauce)
1/3 cup white sugar
2/3 cup brown sugar, divided use
FOR THE TOPPING:
1 cup oatmeal, uncooked
1 stick (1/2 cup) margarine, melted
1/3 cup all-purpose flour c
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Mix apples, cranberries and white sugar and 1/3 cup brown sugar and place in casserole dish; set aside.

Mix topping ingredients along with the remaining 1/3 cup brown sugar and crumble over top of apples.

Bake at 350 degrees F approximately 45 minutes.

Makes 9 (3-Inch) squares
