Recipe(tried): Cream of Asparagus Soup (2)

here's 2 soup recipes:

Cream of Asparagus Soup
cook 1 pound of asparagus, reserve liquid in which you have cooked it.
Prepare 2 batches thin white sauce (about 1 cup each batch)
add 1 cup asparagus liquid to white sauce. Combine with cut asparagus and serve season with paprika

cream of Asparagus soup with stock base

1 pound asparagus
6 cups soup stok (hommade or bullion)
3 TLBS. butter
3 TLBs. flour
1/2 cup hot cream or milk
1/2 tea. salt
1/2 cup whipping cream (used as garnish opp)

wash and drain asparagus. Boil in soup stock 5 minuites. Remove tips and set aside.
sice remaining stalks and boil 20 min. mash or blend stock or as recipe says run through corse sieve.
Make a sauce with melted butter and 1 cup of hot stock. cook until smooth and add to the soup.
Then add hot cream and seasoning.

Serve with whipped crean and garnish with tips
Now I have not tried this but it sounds yummy I may have to!
