I forgot where this recipe comes from and I don't have exact measurements but this is as close to Campbell’s tomato soup as you can get. I used to make this all the time when I used to can my own tomatoes :)

Simmer one large can of tomatoes with a chopped onion and a couple of bay leaves for about 1/2 hour or so until it’s cooked down and flavorful. Remove the bay leaves and either use a hand blender or a regular blender to puree the tomato mixture.

Prepare 4 cups of fairly thin white sauce. You know...4 T butter, 4 T flour, and 4 cups of milk. Add the tomato mixture to the white sauce and wala!
