Recipe(tried): Creamed Tomatoes

CREAMY TOMATOES

1 (16 oz) can chopped or diced tomatoes with juice
1 tbsp butter
1 1/2 tsp sugar
Salt (to taste)
1/8 tsp baking soda
3 tbsp flour
3/4 cup milk
1 slice bread, toasted

Combine tomatoes with juice with butter, sugar and salt in saucepan; heat over medium heat. Stir in baking soda.

Combine flour and milk; blend well and stir into hot tomato mixture. Cook, stirring constantly until mixture is thick and bubbly.

Break toasted bread into small pieces and add to hot tomato mixture.
