Recipe(tried): Decorating for Christmas open house buffet

Holidays, Celebrations
Wanted to share my idea here :) (maybe a blond one but I think it may work) My breakfast bar is the seperation between my dining room and kitchen and then my dining room is open to the living room (formal living room no TV in it)Of course it is all cleaned from top to bottom and all decorations out. My home is very country in decor and my living room is what I call "Formal Country decor" :) I have about 8 to 10 trees that I leave out all year and decorate by the season so Chtistmas/winter is snowmen :) :)Fabric can be purchased at $1.00/2.00 per yard.....I was thinking of making a fabric skirt for around the base of my breakfast bar which will be the desert bar. I was going to use a gree/brug plaid fabric for the skirt....use self stick velcro around the bar edge and then use quilt pins to attatch the skirt in a pleat pattern.....then cover the top with unbleached muslin and then a dark hunter green in large squares over that. On top under the fabric I am going to use different size and height boxes, bowls and pans to vairy the hights of the dessert plates/dishes I will be using. At the far end I will place the chocolate fountain with all the fresh fruits for dipping and then the homemade cookies, candies, trifle (cranberry/orange), cheesecake (white chocolate with fresh raspberry sauce) and chocolate cups fill with a white choc hazlenut moose. :) I am going to do the same fabric skirt around the base of my kitchen cabinets and counters I have a very large cuttong board that I will use to cover my cook top and also a cutting board that covers one side of my sink. The other side of the sink I will place a large oval decorative bucket and in this I will have ice with bottled water and sodas. one section of the counter will be all the not appetizers and the other section will be the cold appetizers. The small section of counter between the ovens and fredg will be for serving pieces and the small round table (i'll bring in) in the middle of the kitchen will (with same fabrics) will serve as the punch table holding the glass pitchers filled with several different punch and the stem ware. I plan on having the kitchen alite with candles burning and elect candles alight. The living room and dinning room will be aglow with the white lights on all the trees and the lighted garland on the stair banister as well as candle light . My decor colors are in dark hunter green, echru, brugandy, and a tad bit of navy. I also have some gold to dress it up for the holidays. :) I have out 120 or so of my snowmen :) swags on the windowns with bows and greenery all over the house inside......festive mood in here :) I will put out luminaries for each open house of quart canning jars with dried berries, mini pine cones and tea lights the jars will be set in the middle of small pine wreaths and will line the drive as well as the front steps and porch. WHAT ABOUT YOUR PLANS TO DECORATE YOUR HOME FOR THE SEASON :) :)
HAVE A BLESSED AND WONDERFUL DAY :)
