Recipe(tried): Easy English Trifle

Here is an easy trifle adaptation that makes a very pretty
presentation and is very good. Every time I make it people
just "ooh and aww" over it. Someone always wants the
recipe. Hope this helps!

Easy English Trifle

1pkg.Yellow cake mix
1pkg.16ozfrozen strawberry halves,thawed
1 pkg. vanilla pudding mix (or 2 cupspudding)
2 cup whipped topping (Cool Whip)
1/4 C. tasted silvered almonds
7 whole strawberries
Bake cake in oblen pan, as directed on pkg. Cut cake
crosswise in half, cut into pieces; split each piece horzontally.
(freeze half for future)Cut pieces to fit in glass serving bowl.
Layer cake, half strawberries,pudding, whipped topping and
repeat, Sprinkle topping with almonds and whole strawberries.
Traditional Trifle: Omit strawberries. Cut cake and split each
piece and fill with 2 T. raspberry Jam. Arrange pieces in bowl
and pour 1/2 sherry or 1/3 c. orange juice plus w T sherry
flavoring over cake. Allow to soak a few minutes, then spread
with all the pudding and whipped cream, almonds.
