Recipe: Food Processor Chocolate Chip Cookies

FOOD PROCESSOR CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, cut up
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

In a food processor, add sugars, butter, eggs and vanilla. Process until creamy. Add flour, baking soda and salt and blend.

Fold in chocolate chips and nuts, if using. Drop dough by rounded teaspoons onto parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing 2 1/2 inches apart.

Bake until lightly browned, 8 to 10 minutes. Cool 1 minute on baking sheet. Transfer to a rack and cool completely.

Makes about 3 1/2 dozen large cookies
