Recipe: Old Fashioned Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

OLD FASHIONED CHOCOLATE CHIP OATMEAL COOKIES

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 stick butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup shortening, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed light brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup quick oats

Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl; set aside.

Beat butter, shortening, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and oats. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.

Bake in preheated 350 degree F. over for 8 to 11 minutes or untl golden brown. Let stand for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

Makes 5 dozen cookies
